Adventures At The Pig Hotel

We happened upon The Pig Hotel while wondering around the New Forest last weekend. And what a treat we found! A unique country house hotel set in the heart of the New Forest National Park 1 mile from Brockenhurst. The Pig newly opened, is the baby sister of Lime Wood Hotel also set in the New Forest. What struck me straight away was how the hotel made me feel, warm, cosy and creatively easy on the eye. The interior speaks to you on many levels, it's not standard textbook design, with the latest this or that. Sure there is a nod toward certain trends in the cosy sitting rooms like using wing back chairs and Deborah Bowness book shelf wallpaper. However the use in the glass atrium dining room of reclaimed patterned tiles; a selection of mis-matched chairs; old crates filled with pots of herbs; and recycled tables, is a collection of eclectic pieces that work and inspire because of the clever way they coalesce.
Serving up food from their own kitchen garden and the 15 mile rule of using produce sourced within a 15 mile radius makes The Pig a great place to eat with it's ever evolving menu. The grounds offer al fresco dining, benches scattered around to relax on. A bronze signature pig and a bench swing hanging from an old oak tree do well to entertain the big and little ones alike!
A little gem of a place, I look forward to returning for an overnight stay! Room rates start at £125 per night.

How To Get There?
London Waterloo is a direct 90min train journey away, trains run from Brockenhurst station, alternatively London is a 90mins drive away.
